Abstract

This research paper presents an analytical study of the Qur’anic and historical narratives related to the Noble Wives of the Prophet(Azwāj-e-Mutahharāt), which are directly or indirectly connected to the themes mentioned in the Holy Quran and the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ. The term “Qasas” (stories/narratives) refers to events narrated for the purpose of moral instruction, guidance, and reflection, and in the Qur’an, their primary objective is to promote human moral development, ethical guidance, and spiritual awareness.Islam granted the noble title of “Mothers of the Believers” (Ummuhāt al-Muminīn) to the wives of the Prophet ﷺ, elevating their religious, moral, and social status to the highest possible rank. Their marital relationship with the Prophetwas not merely a domestic bond but also a means of educating the Muslim Ummah, conveying the message of Islam, and serving as a practical embodiment of divine revelation. This association bestowed upon them the lifelong honor of being the wives of the Prophet ﷺ, establishing a permanent moral and religious model for the Muslim community. The Quran gives special emphasis to the purity and sanctity of the Azwāj-e-Mutahharāt, making their honor an integral part of the faith of the believers.
