Quranic Perspective of Tourism Industry

Abstract

Tourism is a trillion dollar vast industry. People from all over the world travel to various destinations to explore the wonders of the earth. Muslims are also a live part of the modern world. They make 23 % of the world population. It is the 2nd largest community of world. As humans we need as well to travel from one place to another to fulfill our various needs.  The term halal tourism is nothing but to give an Islamic way of travel to those who travel from one place to another to get pleasure and explore the wonders of the planet.If we study the Quran, we find that there are various verses that elaborate various dimensions of this vast tourism industry. Quran tells various aspects of traveling and it sets specific principles for traveling. On the bases of these Quranic principles, Halal tourism industry emerged. In this paper we have discussed tourism and the term halal tourism in the light of Islam and then have gone through different aspects of tourism mentioned in Quran. At the end we have come up with Quranic principles for tourism industry, in order to guide the Muslim tourists and halal tourism department toward the mentioned term.
